Motivational Interviewing can be defined as:- In drug and alcohol rehabilitation, a question-and-answer method of interviewing aimed at increasing the client's motivation to change, leading to discontinuing substance abuse. Motivational Interviewing is a well established counselling style with proven success with drug users. We have four trained members of staff at Breakthru offering this intervention. Access to the service is limited in the Dungannon/Mid-Ulster area but is available for all young people 12 -25 years in Omagh and Fermanagh District Council Areas. |
