Breakthru Welcomes Dr Michael Mc Bride, Chief Medical Officer of Northern Ireland | Print |  E-mail

On Thursday 25th November Breakthru staff were joined by Dr Michael Mc Bride, Chief Medical Officer of Northern Ireland, guests, Members of the Board of Dungannon Development Association and young people involved with Breakthru projects as part of our ongoing 15th Anniversary Celebrations.

Dr Mc Bride heard about the many Breakthru projects and had an opportunity to talk to staff and young people about the work.
This was mainly a celebration of the work with and by young people at Breakthru. We had representatives from St Patrick’s College and Drumglass High School who are part of the Peer Education and Research groups, members of the Youth Forum, ARIS group and Intergenerational Forum. Dr Mc Bride viewed a selection of leaflets, posters, workbooks and resources produced by young people for young people.

Dr Mc Bride praised the work of Breakthru and commended the young people on their enthusiasm and commitment. He said they were the leaders of the future and would influence their peer group to make positive choices.
