Peer Education and Research |
|
This is an innovative project, which, through a series of sessions allows the young people involved to become peer educators. This is achieved by the young volunteers increasing their knowledge of substance misuse as well as various team building and confidence building activities As part of the programme the young people have to carry out a piece of research, which allows an accurate picture of attitudes and behaviours of the young people involved. From this research the peer group can then best plan an activity to address their findings – workshops information days etc.
Successful projects have addressed alcohol misuse, smoking and illegal drug use. |
